Big Box Stores’ Customer Service Struggles during Pandemic

The pandemic has caused a labor storage due to employees who do not want to work retail. This has severely impacted big box appliance stores such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, & Best Buy.  They are having a hard time attracting help due to the low wages and people not wanting to work in a store that has 4000+ people coming in a day where COVID-19 is most likely to spread.

They are also having trouble retaining their people, and considering that it takes at least six months to become knowledgeable in appliances, the high turnover results in staff who aren’t knowledgeable and often times they don’t want to help you because they don’t want to have to be responsible for you getting the wrong appliance. Ultimately, when you go to the box stores right now more than ever, you are on your own and good help is going to be very hard to find.
