Bosch Announces Upcoming Price Increases for Appliances
Updated: 6 days ago
This month Bosch's parent company, BSH Home Appliances Corporation, announced the dates that the next round of price increases will go into effect, citing "increases in material and logistical costs". This is unfortunate news for consumers who have already been dealing with long delays on back-ordered products caused by supply chain constraints.
So when will these increases take effect and how much will the pricing change?
The new pricing will be applied on Oct. 1, 2022 and will raise prices by about 4% on average across the entire line of Bosch appliances. Actual amounts will vary by model, category and brand. The only exception will be the new line of Bosch dishwashers for 2023. Pricing for the new dishwasher line is set to be released soon, and will be unaffected by the Oct. 1 increase.
Is it just Bosch that is affected?
These changes will also be reflected in pricing for BSH's other appliance brands, Thermador and Gaggenau.
Is there any relief in site for back-order delays?
Unfortunately, due to material shortages BSH announced in early June that they would no longer accept new orders on 500, 800, or Benchmark series dishwashers in order to focus on fulfilling the current backlog.
Is there any way for consumers to still get these models?
Independent appliance retails who placed their inventory orders before the announcement should continue to periodically receive stock as their orders ship. You can use our list of preferred independent dealers to find a retailer near you. If you are lucky they may have just received a shipment and have stock, but otherwise many of these retailers can put you on their waiting list and contact you when they receive new shipments of product.
